New beginnings for local artist

Patrick Van Deale, a local Newcastle artist who is supported by Samaritans post-release services recently hosted an art exhibition.
Patrick realised his passion for art whilst in prison and since being released he has attended Art School at Hunter TAFE.  After leaving prison Samaritans supported Patrick through our post-release program, Friendship House, which offers accommodation and support to help people leaving prison re-engage with the community.

“Samaritans helped me in every aspect of my life.  Samaritans took me in. I appreciate their generosity, kindness, humanity and selflessness,” Patrick said.

Each artwork is A2 in size and costs $50.  The paintings vary from oil pastel, acrylic and chinese ink.
