Our commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

At Samaritans we respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this land which was colonised without their consent.

In particular, Samaritans acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work; the Awabakal, Biripi, Darkinjung, Dunghutti, Gumbaynggirr, Kamilaroi, Wanaruah, Worimi and Wiradjuri nations. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal Australia.

Samaritans is committed to championing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture by making a meaningful contribution to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
