Helping to provide a safe place to stay
Samaritans believes everyone has a right to safe and secure housing. We are committed to providing people experiencing homelessness or people at risk of homelessness with the right opportunities and support.
Our services are varied and provide homelessness assistance to women and children escaping domestic violence, young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, as well as accommodation for men exiting prison.
Samaritans offers the following homeless services:
Samaritans Youth Transitional Accommodation Newcastle and Lower Hunter manages a number of transitional accommodation properties in Newcastle Local Government Area and Cessnock Local Government Area.
These properties provide young people aged 16 – 24 years with access to short-term, stable and affordable accommodation, along with outreach support from a caseworker.
Samaritans Student Accommodation is for young people aged 16-25, who need accommodation in order to continue goals around education and training.
If you are suffering financial hardship and you are unable to pay bills, or if you are in need of food vouchers:
In addition to this, Samaritans offers accommodation to women and children escaping domestic violence via the Great Lakes Manning Homeless Support Service.
