Samaritans Child Wellbeing Program is about connecting with children and young people to form a safe social space for sharing stories, building resilience, and having fun.

The program delivers evidenced based initiatives such as DRUMBEAT and Seasons for Growth to Primary School aged children in the Raymond Terrace and Karuah area.

Services

DRUMBEAT

DRUMBEAT (Discovering Relationships Using Music, Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes, and Thoughts) incorporates hand drumming, behavioural therapeutic principles and cognitive and dialectical elements to achieve positive outcomes.

Participants learn different rhythms as a team and as individuals.  There are drumming games to cement the key learning outcomes of the program to;

  • Build social and emotional resilience for any age group.
  • Support managing change and challenges.
  • To build resilience through rhythm.


Seasons for Growth Children and Young People's Program

Seasons for Growth offers children and young people a safe space to come together, and share their experiences of change and loss.

The Children and Young People’s Program has a safe and engaging curriculum structure that incorporates a wide range of age-appropriate activities involving drawing, role-play, stories, discussion, playdough, music and journal activities.

Who we assist

Samaritan Child Wellbeing Program is a community program for children aged 12 and under.

As the facilitating partner in the Raymond Terrace Local Government Area, Samaritans operates The Child Wellbeing Program within local primary schools.

The Child Wellbeing Program also offers fee for service for local community groups across the Hunter.

Location

The Child Wellbeing Program operates across Raymond Terrace, Karuah and the Hunter, NSW.
