Samaritans Child and Parenting Support, including Kinship Care can help you with caring for children.
Child and Parenting Support offers parents and kinship carers help through playgroups, parenting support, kinship carer peer support programs, and family support and case management.
Kinship Care Peer Support Groups
Are you the primary carer for a child? You might be the child’s grandparent, relative or a significant friend. Samaritans Kinship Carer groups offer support for grandparents and other kinship carers and provide social interaction and shared experiences with other carers, support and friendship as well as discussion and sharing of information on relevant support services.

Our supported playgroups for children aged 0-6 are facilitated by experienced educators to offer fun, creative activities for children and parents. Morning tea and family support are offered at the groups. The Playgroups run in Kurri Kurri, Windale, Beresfield, Woodrising and Coonabarabran.

Our Child and Parenting Support team can tailor support to meet the individual needs of parents and carers. It may be through visiting your home, in the community or participating in a parenting group activity or program.
