How will you celebrate NAIDOC week 2019?
Samaritans would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work and pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal Australia.
NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
With NAIDOC Week fast approaching, we’ve put together a list of exciting events that might interest you. From family fun days to dance and cooking workshops, there are plenty of ways to get involved across our regions.
The theme for NAIDOC week 2019 is Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future. Click here to find out more.
