The benefits of Disability Supported Accommodation

Disability Supported Accommodation (also known as Supported Independent Living) offers people with disabilities tailored accommodation with as much or as little support as you need.

We tailor accommodation to meet your needs and develop unique models of support, communication, and social opportunities, including:

  • Independent living skills
  • Community participation and access
  • Daily personal supports
  • A chance to make new friends

We have a range of support models available, from casual drop-ins and outreach to round-the-clock in-home support.

Our drop-in model involves staff providing support as needed. Just give us a call and let us know when you need us to visit.

Need more support? Our 24/7 supported accommodation services

might be a better fit. A staff member can provide support at home all day, every day, even providing a sleepover model which varies from house-to-house.

Our Disability Supported Accommodation services also include home and apartment vacancies through Samaritans, complete with accessible ramps and easy access to the community.

These homes and apartments are scattered throughout Newcastle, the Central Coast, the Mid North Coast, and Hunter Valley. No matter where you are, we can provide support.

We have a diverse range of accommodation available for those who need it!

Samaritans have vacant or shared homes and apartments available throughout Newcastle, the Central Coast, and the Hunter Valley.

Our supported accommodation is complete with in-home or drop-in support. Some houses have current residents who would be happy to have another housemate, plus there are multiple support workers trained in disability support and mental health who can visit every day.

Most of all, it’s important to remember that we’re committed to providing personalised support. We’ll tailor our services to meet your unique needs, so you can live life the way you want!

The first step to getting access to supported accommodation is as simple as dropping us an email.

Have a browse through our accommodation pages to see what’s available and learn more about your potential housemates.
