Aleta celebrates her 60th in style

Aleta from Samaritans Killara Supported Independent Living (SIL) recently celebrated her 60th birthday with a fabulous trip to Sydney.

Aleta was accompanied by Samaritans Support Worker, Darlene, who told us all about her birthday trip.

Aleta kicked off her trip in style with the arrival of a stretch limousine – a birthday gift from her parents – to take her to Sydney. As the rain came down Aleta relaxed in the back.

On her birthday, Aleta was surprised with a high tea at the Queen Victoria Building before heading to the Capitol Theatre to see Frozen The Musical. Aleta said it was wonderful. She reminisced of when she would go to Sydney with her mum to see musicals.

The next day Aleta went on a tram and a bus to Taronga Zoo. She was very lucky to have a clear day with no crowds at the zoo. She loved the pygmy hippo and when the tiger came and lay down at the glass beside her, it made her day. Before leaving the zoo, Aleta bought herself a white tiger that now has pride of place on her bed.

Aleta had a lovely birthday and said that her trip was “Magic!”
