Samaritans Accommodation Services
All accommodation services provide case management, living skills programmes, advocacy, referral, and assistance to young people to build on their strengths to enable them to maintain or return to education, training or work. With the provision of strengths-based services, young people are supported and assisted to gain income support, long-term safe accommodation, learn life skills, move towards independence and strive to contribute positively in the community.
Who can use accommodation services?
Samaritans Youth Services is able to work with young people up to the age of 25 who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. This might be due to having nowhere to stay, family breakdown, being in an unsafe situation or having to continually move from place to place.
Where are the accommodation services?
Samaritans Youth Services has accommodation services at Wyong, Cessnock, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Taree.
How can I find these services?
Samaritans Youth Services manages a service called ‘Information and Referral’. This service operates Monday – Friday during business hours and can help with information about Samaritans and other services and provide a referral to most accommodation services throughout the Hunter, Central Coast and Manning regions.

Outreach Services
Outreach services are provided to young people experiencing homelessness or those at risk of homelessness. A youth worker is linked to each young person to provide support and information. Samaritans Youth Services has houses available for rental to young people as a medium term arrangement, and can offer assistance to find longer-term housing.
Live in Service – Crisis
Crisis accommodation services are provided to young people aged between 12 and 18 who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. The services provide safe and stable accommodation for up to three months. These services are staffed 24 hours per day.
Live in Service – Medium Term
A medium term accommodation service is provided to young people aged between 12 and 18 who are experiencing homelessness. The service provides safe and stable accommodation for up to twelve months. This service is staffed 24 hours per day.
