Accomodation Services

Margaret Stibbard Close is a unit complex located in Edgeworth that provides accommodation for homeless men over 55 years of age. It was named after the late Mrs Stibbard, wife of the Assistant Bishop of Newcastle, a tireless campaigner for the people in need. The complex consists of six units housing up to 8 residents.

Friendship House was established in 1994 by the Anglican, Catholic and Uniting churches, as a Life After Prison Ministry to provide accommodation and support service for ex-offenders leaving Cessnock prison. Friendship House provides accommodation for up to two men at a time for up to 28 days.

St. Albans Youth Accommodation Service is a crisis accommodation service provided to young people aged between 12 and 18 who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. The services provide safe and stable accommodation for up to three months and are staffed 24 hours per day.

Youth Refuge Wyong (IT House) is a crisis accommodation service provided to young people aged between 12 and 18 who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. The services provide safe and stable accommodation for up to three months and are staffed 24 hours per day.

Samaritans Youth Housing Options Maitland (SYHOM) provides semi-supported in-house accommodation for up to 3 young people aged between 16 and 21. A separate flat is also available for a pregnant young woman or couple. The service provides safe and stable accommodation for up to twelve months and further supports clients with outreach services.
