The recovery point assists those leaving prison or with alcohol & drug problems in Newcastle.

The Recovery Point is a program that provides practical assistance and support to people who are leaving prison and/or alcohol & drug rehabilitation centres to re-engage with the community.

We approach this transition one step at a time, from assistance with finding accommodation, clothing, ID, Centrelink and opening a bank account.

The program gives you the opportunity of being engaged in work, training/education and/or social & recreational activities, so that you are not socially isolated.

Referral forms are available through The Recovery Point office on the details below.

NOTE: To ensure pre-release connection, referrals need to be at least three months prior to release. This will ensure that the case worker can make contact at least three times before release. Referral can be made up to 12 months before release.
