Donors are the lifeblood of Samaritans. By their generosity of donations of cash, support in kind or time, donors provide the resources that allow us to make the difference for those in our community who are having some trouble at this time in their lives.
Benefits
By making a cash donation to Samaritans, you allow us to fund extra projects that are not otherwise supported in the community. Whether it's a helping hand to a parent who can't feed their children, support to struggling families coming to terms with third generation unemployment, poor education and limited opportunities, or providing real employment opportunities for those ready to grasp the chance, Samaritans is there in the local community.
Money you donate stays in our regions - it does not go to some large corporate office in a capital city, to be spent by those not in touch with what's happening on your doorstep. With over 118 services throughout our region, we know what is needed and where.
Each donation over $2.00 is fully tax deductible. Your receipt will be issued, in writing, within 10 working days of Samaritans Central Office receiving the money.
You have the opportunity to make one off donations, or respond to our annual appeals at Christmas and Winter time, or to set up a regular monthly or quarterly contributions by a deduction through your credit card.
You will receive regular newsletters letting you know what Samaritans is doing and how they are changing lives.
You also have the opportunity to join one of our regular bus tours which visit our services, explaining what we do. Staff take the time to talk about the work that is done, the clients that we help and show you how your money helps make our community a better place to live in.
