Samaritans provides student accommodation in Newcastle.

This program is a Foyer Model offering supported accommodation, education and employment opportunities to young people.

The service is based at Wickham in Newcastle, NSW.

The program started in 2013 and is aimed at young people

  • who are aged 16-25
  • who are engaged in study
  • who need a place to stay
  • who are happy to be linked in with ongoing support, and
  • who can live positively in a community environment.

How to join

To be a part of Samaritans Student Accommodation, a young person must join with a support provider to fill out an application. Support Providers working with a young person can fill out the Wickham Accommodation Application and the Wickham Accommodation Consent Form listed below.

Mentor Program

In recognition of the need of residents of Samaritans Student Accommodation to develop life skills and achieve their goals, Samaritans has introduced the complementary Mentor Program. This program is designed specifically to provide the opportunity for each resident at Samaritans Student Accommodation to build a relationship with a like-minded mentor who will provide guidance, friendship, advice and motivation. For more information about becoming a mentor read the brochure listed below.
